Knowledge Base: 40 S&W (10x22mm Smith & Wesson) is a rimless pistol cartridge created by, Winchester and Smith & Wesson. The .40 S&W was original designed for law enforcement, with the goal of duplicating the FBI's reduced velocity 10mm cartridge which could be modified to fit (9mm size) automatic handguns. It uses .40-inch (10.16 mm) diameter bullets ranging in weight from 135 to 200 grains (9 g to 13 g). A number of loads with hollow point bullets offer a good combination of expansion, penetration, temporary cavitation, and sufficient energy transfer to impart hydrostatic shock.

  1. Never had a problem with wolf ammo

Posted by Matt M - Gary, IN on 28th Jul 2010

I've fired over 4000 rounds of Wolf 380, 9mm, .40s&w, and .45acp ammo through Glocks, Sigs, Brownings, and even a Marlin Camp rifle. I have had 0 misfires, 0 malfunctions, and 0 case splits. The price of the ammo allows me to do a whole bunch more shooting than I would be able to afford buying more expensive stuff. With all the plinkin I do, Wolf is the definite best choice.
